Dr. Nemat Shafik
Deputy Governor, Bank of England
Dr. Shafik became Deputy Governor of the Bank of England in 2014. Prior to joining the Bank, she was Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund from 2011-2014. Previous appointments include: Permanent Secretary of the Department for International Development and Vice President at the World Bank. She was made a Dame Commander of the British Empire in the Queen’s Birthday Honour’s list in 2015.


Bharat Shah
Chairman, Alderbrooke
With a successful CEO track record of delivering impressive results, Bharat Shah’s time at Kodak saw him generating over $2bn of revenue with 8,000 employees in over 100 countries. He is an accomplished mentor of senior executives across a range of sectors, combining a 360° appraisal of their needs with assistance in strategy development and change management.


Bilal Shaykh
Group Chief Procurement Officer, Centrica
Responsible for billion dollar budgets, senior executive Bilal Shaykh is currently Group Chief Procurement Officer at Centrica, having previously been Interim Head of UK Direct Procurement at National Grid and Interim Divisional Sourcing Director at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Previous roles include: Group Procurement Director at Compass Group and VP of Procurement at Unilever.


Shahid Sheikh
Managing Director, Clifton Packaging Group Ltd
Ugandan-born Shahid Sheikh is MD of Clifton Packaging Group Ltd. He was made Cultural Ambassador to Leicestershire County Cricket Club and is the first person in county cricket to be honoured with the title. Family-run Clifton Packaging Ltd is a world-leading flexible packaging company for the food industry.


Tom Shropshire
Partner, Linklaters
A member of the New York bar, Tom Shropshire is a senior legal professional with an impeccable track record in business. Currently a US corporate partner based in Linklaters, London, he has worked with the United Nations Global Compact to advance corporate sustainability. In 2014, he won the inaugural British Black Business Award for 20 Professional Services.


Stelio Stefanou
Co-founder, Accord
Stelio Stefanou founded Accord Plc in 1999 and sold it for £150m in 2007. His previous roles include CBI Regional Chairman and Chairman of the CBI Local Government Panel. He has founded two charities and was awarded an OBE for his services to business in 2004. 


Sir David Tang
Founder, Shanghai Tang
Previously a teacher of law and philosophy, Sir David Tang is founder of Shanghai Tang: the first international luxury goods brand to emerge from China. Among his many philanthropic and executive roles, Tang is a trustee of the Royal Academy of Arts; Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Acquisitions Committee at the Tate; adviser to the London Symphony Orchestra and the English Chamber Orchestra; and President of the London Bach Society.


Daniel Taylor
Managing Director, Metro Design
Listed on J.P. Morgan’s Black Powerlist 2009, Daniel Taylor is an award-winning interior design specialist with many prestigious projects to his name. As founding member of the Creative Apprenticeships Task Force, he works with businesses to identify successful apprenticeship practice and opportunities for young people. He is also a founding trustee for the Creative & Cultural Skills Council.


Geoff Thompson MBE
Executive Chairman, Youth Charter
Former five times World Karate Champion, Geoff Thompson is one of the leading youth activists and experts in sports development and politics with over 25 years experience in the bidding and hosting and legacy of major games and the positive impact of sport, arts, culture and technology in the social and human development of young people and communities. He is Founder and Executive Chair of the Youth Charter (www.youthcharter.co.uk), a UK registered charity and United Nations Non Governmental Organisation established in 1993.


Dr. Yvonne Thompson
Chair, African Caribbean Business Network
With over 30 years’ experience in business, Dr. Thompson is now Chair of the ACBN. She was the founder/director of the UK’s first Black Music radio station Choice FM and started the European Federation of Black Women Business Owners. With many appointments on public sector Boards, she also chairs the events committee for the Women’s Diplomatic Service Network.


Jean Tomlin
Non-Executive Director, J Sainsbury Plc
Jean Tomlin is a non-Executive Director of J Sainsbury Plc. whose former appointments include: HR Director for London 2012 Organising Committee; Group HR Director at Marks & Spencer Plc; HR Director of Egg Plc; and Sales & Operations Director of Prudential Direct. She has also been a Commissioner for Judicial Appointments and a member of the Race Relations Advisory Group.


Dr. Hamadoun Toure
non-Executive Director, Inmarsat Plc
Dr. Touré has a distinguished career in the satellite industry and is on the Advisory Board of IMPACT: International Multilateral Partnership Against Cyber Threats. He joined the Board of Immarsat in 2015 as an NED. Appointed founding executive director of SMART Africa Alliance, Touré was previously Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and founding member of the Broadband Commission for Digital Development.


Sanjay Vadera
Chief Executive, The Fragrance Shop
Ugandan Asian Sanjay Vadera came to the UK as a child. He gained a degree in physics and computing at university, where he started his first business. Vadera purchased The Fragrance Shop in 2006 from Peacocks, expanding the business to over 170 stores. He teamed the business with children’s charity, Rays of Sunshine, donating 5p from every transaction to the charity. To date over £450,000 has been raised.


Baroness Shriti Vadera
Chairman, Santandar
A non-Executive Director of AstraZeneca Plc since 2011, Baroness Vadera is a senior financial executive with vast experience. Currently she holds an independent non-Executive Directorship at BHP Billiton Ltd and is non-Executive Chairman of Santander UK Group Holdings Plc and Santander UK Plc, where she has been its Senior Independent Director since 2015. She studied Philosophy, Politics & Economics at Oxford.


Ashok Vaswani
Chief Executive Officer - UK Retail & Business Banking, Barclays Bank Plc
Currently CEO, Barclays UK, Ashok Vaswani is a senior executive professional of many years’ experience and now oversees 23m customers and 1m business banking clients. His previous appointments include: CEO of Personal and Corporate Banking; and CEO of Retail Banking at Barclays; Partner at Brysam Global Partners; and CEO, Consumer Bank, Asia Pacific.


Kris Wadia
President - Global Delivery Network, Quintiles
Kris Wadia joined Quintiles in 2015 as President, Global Delivery Network, having held leadership positions in Accenture, Pearson Professional and OCBC Bank Singapore. He is founder and CEO of Humanized Leadership, a Leadership Coaching and Diagnostics practice, and is both a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Fellow of the Institute of Direct Marketing in the UK.


Iqbal Wahhab
CEO, Roast 
Iqbal Wahhab founded Tandoori Magazine before selling it in 2001 to found restaurants The Cinnamon Club and later, Roast. In 2009, Wahhab was awarded an OBE for services to the hospitality industry. In 2010, he was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts. Wahhab is Chair of the Department for Work and Pensions’ Ethnic Minority Advisory Group.


Ho Kwon Ping
non-Executive Director, Diageo Plc
Stanford-educated Ho Kwon Ping founded the globally successful Banyan Tree hotel chain.  He is currently a Non-Executive Director of Diageo Plc, the alcoholic drinks giant.  Among many other appointments, he is Chairman of Thai Wah Public Company Ltd, a Governor of the London Business School and Chairman of the School Advisory Committee at the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. 


Sharon White
Chief Executive, Ofcom
Civil servant and Cambridge-educated economics professional Sharon White became Chief Executive of Ofcom in 2015. She was Second Permanent Secretary at the Treasury, and held Board-level positions at the Ministry of Justice and the Dept. for International Development. She has worked at the Prime Minister’s Policy Unit, and in Washington DC as a senior economist at the World Bank.


Trevor Williams
Chief Economist, Lloyds Banking Group
From a background as an economist in the civil service, Williams rose to his current position as Chief Economist at Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets. He is a regular contributor to various financial journals; a member of the editorial Board of Economia and the Journal of Corporate Treasury Management; and Visiting Professor at the University of Derby. 


Woon Wing Yip
Founder, Wing Yip Super Market
Chinese-born entrepreneur Woon Wing Yip is the Founder of Wing Yip Supermarkets. From humble beginnings, he has diversified to include property development with a portfolio now worth £23m. Yip has endowed several bursaries and scholarships for university students from both the UK and China. In 2008, Yip was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Birmingham City University.


Manjit Wolstenholme
Chairman, Provident Financial Plc
Manjit Wolstenholme was appointed to the Unite Board in 2011 as Senior Independent Director. Her previous roles include Director and Co-Head of Investment Banking at DKW, and Partner at Gleacher Shacklock. Currently, she is Chair of Provident Financial, and Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee of Future Plc. She is also Chair of Audit and Non-Executive Director of Aviva Investors.


Rob Woodstock
Managing Director, Accenture
Rob Woodstock is Head of Sourcing and Procurement Consulting UK & Ireland, Accenture. As a senior executive with Accenture’s Management Consulting Practice specialising in sourcing and procurement, he is a strong advocate of ethical supply chains in business. Woodstock is also the Inclusion and Diversity Lead for Accenture’s UK & Ireland’s business and chair to the Advisory Board of MOBO (Music of Black Origin).


Jacky Wright
Vice-President, Microsoft IT Enterprise SES
Jacky Wright is Vice President of IT Strategic Enterprise Services at Microsoft. Her past roles involved various CIO and leadership roles at BP, GE, Accenture, AutoNation and Ryder. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for Harvey Mudd College, Prostate Cancer UK, Year Up and Women’s Innovation Council


Ying Yeh
non-Executive Director, InterContinental Hotels Group Plc
As Chairperson of the innovative water treatment and management specialists Nalco, Greater China Region, Ying Yeh used her considerable experience in business to formulate best practice of this precious world resource. She previously worked in the Asian divisions of Eastman Kodak and held various positions within the US Government. Currently, she holds several international non-executive directorships in listed companies.


Ratheesan Yoganathan
Co-Founder & Chief Exeuctive, Lebara
Ratheesan Yoganathan, a British entrepreneur was 25 when he co-founded Lebara Group (in 2001) after drafting a quintessential back-of-a-napkin business plan on the way home from Norway. The company has rapidly grown with 5 million plus active customers. He is an aeronautical engineer by education, after graduating from Kingston University, UK. A strong believer in supporting young entrepreneurial talent, Yoganathan officially launched “The Entrepreneurial Way” at Cass Business School, London, in December 2012.
